Are my Salvinis old enough to breed?

If some thing bad would go wrong with the spawn, make sure you have a divider close by. The male will definatly try to kill your female.

I don't know about that, when I had mine they would stick together nomatter what. I would even see the male protect the female. I don't really see the male killing the female, because the eggs die. Now I have seen cichlids kill their mate because they wont breed! Witch I can understand......

I had a pair once that after the eggs hatched and the fry ended up dying off, the male did kill the female. I was only giving warning from expericance is all.

I agree Salvini cichlids beat the hell out of each other when breeding. I would always divide the tank. The males often lose there coll even if everything is going smooth.

Got the pair moved to a smaller tank by themselves. Lets hope they get busy!

Yes! You need some pics of her, I think she is just as nice looking, just more drab. I think they are going to make love soon, I hope!
