Are My Water Changes Correct?

I also recommend using prime. Occasionally I also use neutral regulator but I'm sure it is overkill.

As far as conditioning before or after goes I chose to use my 5 gallon buckets and let it sit with prime and neutral reg for a couple of minutes before adding it into the tank. It has worked for me for the last 4 years and I do 25% water changes about twice a week.

do you put the additives in the tank then add the water to the tank or do you add the additives to the water then add the water to the tank?
If you are using say a python to fill then dose half the tank then after filled dose the other half when done. If with buckets then dose the buckets before putting into tank.

Thats what I do.

I remove water, add prime and then re-fill.

If I am doing a huge change, I will add the prime in stages. However that is probably not really necessary.

Typically, I add the conditioner literally right before I add the water. I just don't want to get caught up with a leak, a spill, trying to match temps or a phone call and then forget to add the conditioner.
