Are Panda corys more fragile than other cory species?

The reason I ask is that I have never lost any of my three sterbai or three axelrod corys and yet I have lost four of six of my pandas in the exact same tank. I keep all of my corys together and have had the axelrods for almost as long as my pandas. The axelrods have grown considerably and so have my two surviving pandas but losing four of six makes me think they're a more fragile fish. Anyone else experienced this?

Welcome aboard

I have tried Panda Corydora a couple of times years ago and personally had difficulty keeping them long term. Possibly can't thrive in hard water very long, genetics. Tbh I am just guessing. Planet Catfish may have more on Panda Cory care long term.

If you aim to find cory keepers and talk, I recommend Planet Catfish. It is home to great many cory keepers.

Im not a cory keeper by any means but the ones I had for the kids did great. Not any different than any other one to me. Ph is 7-7.5.

What's your water parameters?

.......

I just thought of something. Don't panda's need cooler water. If I remember correctly I want to say around low-mid 70s

I've kept a few cory species, but I can not seem to keep panda corys alive, where all my other corys have thrived. They seem more fragile then the other species I have kept.

I've kept emeralds, julii and pandas in different setups. Decent sized groups. Around 10 of each. My emeralds seemed to be the most hardy. I lost the other groups one by one after a few years when I got lazy and careless adding a new fish without quarantining. Only seemed to effect the corys.

The Pandas died in a 40 Breeder with a GH of 7.8 a Ph of about 7.3/7.4 and a temperature of 77 F. They are now in a tank with slightly softer (7.3 GH) water with a slightly lower Ph 7.0/7.1, although the two Pandas that are left did fine in the other tank along with my Sterbai and Axelrods.
