Had some left over cooked peas and fed them this morning to my fish. Went crazy over them. Great substitute for Malawi's and Tanganyikan's. Thanks again for this information. :naughty: :woot: :clap :headbang2

Your welcome.

My mbuna, oscar silver dollars pleco and guppies all eat peas, frozen fresh not canned too mushy makes a mess. For the smaller fish I squeeze it thru a garlic press

someone on here's gotta have a more definite answer than just my fish like em so they've got to be good for them. I LOVE beer, doesn't mean its good for me! haha

I've read in alot of cichlid books that frozen peas are good for them.

African Cichlids are technically Vegetarians.. It is a much better staple diet than say frozen meaty foods. When I worked at PetSmart, we fed frozen peas to the african cichlids every other day, and yes they love them. Makes a great diet for some of the protein sensative african cichlid species like Tropheus.

Nothing beats high quality pellets or flakes though, they are scientifically engineered to provide maximum nutrition for the fish. There is also a reason why they have different styles of pellets and flakes for different families of fish, ie: African Cichlid foods will be high in Spirulina most of the time..for good reason too!

I know they're good for them due to high nutrient content, but I just like to play devil's advocate.

Ah, someone else who worked at petstupid too. if you worked in specialty like I did, 20 points to you if you can tell me what 40040321954 is the sku number too. I haven't worked at petsmart for 6 years and that damn thing is still stuck in my head!
