Perentie may not enter the US unless you are an aza accredited zoological institution, lace monitors are here in the states however they are very hard to come by and when they are available be prepared to pay a hefty price tag.
hypothetically speaking you can own both species as they are no listed on the restricted list for your state, just make sure you have documentation of common and scientific names of the animal on an invoice from the sale or on the enclosure it's self. Remember most wildlife officers are just officers of law enforcement first, and have little knowledge in regards to the more uncommon species FYI. So if you educate them during your potential search process there is no reason for your animals to confiscated.
