You can't only count the shoaling pygocentrus, because they aren't the only piranha species. There's the serrasalmus, who are bigger, and meaner. Just because some of you haven't seen aggressive solo rbp, doesn't mean they're not out there. I've had a 4" solo that wasn't afraid of me at all, it's all in how you raise them. Beyond that, lots of people are still terrified of them.

I would say yes too. Would you rather be attacked by a single other monster fish or a pack of hungry piranhas?

Alot are skidish ,but there are alot of factors to consider like tank size , size and age of the fish, species , number of fish in the shoal . I would'nt dare stick my fingers in the feeding hole i feed my fish from at dinner time when they'er hungry , i would come out with some messed up digits !!! Thats a fact !!! Another factor to consider is personality , iv'e had Rohms solo in the tank that would come through the glass if they could to take a bite . By the way i would consider my shoal to be semi skidish .

Ugly things are often considered monstrous. And piranha are really ugly. I vote YES.

that is not a fair stereotype. Piranhas may be ugly in your mind, but people who like piranhas, including me, are able to look past that and realize that they are a cool and beautiful fish. And all monster fish are NOT ugly, that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Any way i don't think a fish can really be ''handsome''.
