Are RBP fun to watch when their not eating ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Rhoms, in my experience were just as timid......
Mine just blasted out of sight if he heard any footsteps or any other noises. He didnt even eat when i was even in the room for a loong time, but as mentioned above, every fish has its own personality

Thanks for all your responses, Against all my reasoning and the responses here not to get them due to their shyness, I got 10 small ones, Its something I have to try at least once in my lifetime . :)

Their in a divided tank with four 3-5 inch Loiselles, its a cichlids similar to a Jaguar, but more "peaceful" and four 4 inch silver dollars. Maybe in 2 months time the RBP would be big enough to be mixed with the other fish and not end up as snacks for the cichlids. Right now their swimming everywhere and eating at the surface even when I am present, they do retreat to the bottom when someone passes in front of the tank.

Mixing RBP, or any piranha, with other fish is a bad idea. You will end up losing fish. Even when you keep RBP with RBP you will lose fish.

Small pygos are very active, but with time and size they most likely will become lazy.
