Thanks for the replies. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Even if he isn't sterile, they are not very good at keeping the dead eggs out. The only time I suspected I had wrigglers, I think it was the egg fungus that took them out. Hopefully they figure it out someday.
That's definitely true. I had to pull the eggs and hatch them in another tank to get fry. Go tired of the fungi killing off all the healthy eggs.
If you haven't done it before, move the rock with eggs to a smaller tank and make sure the eggs are submerged at all time. Put a airstone close to the eggs to have a constant current, but not too strong. There are two ways to keep the fungi from growing: 1) add methylene blue. I've tried it and it did work, but it's messy and I didn't like it. 2) remove bag eggs yourself like the parents are supposed to do. I use a straightened out paper clip to get the eggs off, and use a turkey baster to suck them out. Once the eggs hatch you are all good.
