ARE RENA TOPS INTERCHANGEABLE?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It is actually leaking through the two O rings on the quick disconnect valve. The leaking water just over flows into the top part of the filter and then out the cord.

Replacing the O rings will solve the problem as long as the quick disconnect is not damaged

That makes alot of sense. I think I will replace all my O-rings.
Thanks. this place is great!

I was going to comment yesterday regarding swapping the pump heads but didn't. I was almost sure that you would see a slight flow reduction when putting a lower flow pump head on a taller canister body due to the increase in the amount of media present in the taller canister body.

I posted my question on the PlanetRena site under FAQ. Here is their response http://www.planetrena.com/are-the-x...ble-with-the-different-canister-housings.html.

It's nice that Rena has a FAQ section that allows Rena owners to ask these type of questions. I think it is extremely helpful to check with the filter manufacturer to see if they have this type of forum available for product issues that people might be having.

I also see that the solution that Bderick67 offered is the same one suggested by Rena. Here is the link http://www.planetrena.com/rena-filstar-xp3-is-leaking-from-the-cord-area-how-do-i-fix-it.html.

Thanks Deeda. I put the site in my favorites. Hopefully I will have all my O rings replaced soon and all my filters up and running as intended. :)
I love the Rena filters, replaced my fluvals with them before I deployed because they are more user friendly and my wife was going to be maintaining my tanks while I was gone.

You're welcome. I keep a lot of these type of references in Favorites. It gives me quick access to help answer questions and share info I have found online.
