Who here belives in the "naming your fish is badluck" curse? lol, i know this is a corny subject for a thread, but really I am curious... If you get the urge to reply, lol, post your opinion, and any storys to back how u feel. For exaple, I kind of believe in it.. I've lost 3 fish to the curse, a marine beta, Sarge, a baby panther grouper, Donut, and a baby aro, Mercurio... They are all greatly missed :(. On the bright side, my new senegal is doing well without a name, and seems to have adjusted very well to his new home :). Thanks for participating, and lets here your opinions!

well im guna have some bad luck, ive named a couple of mine, i've never heard of this "curse"

I still have the first fish I ever got, his name is rusty.

Nice nice.. I still have one named fish thats still alive.. though i have more or less ceased to call him by his name... Simmons the eel. With a name or not, Simmons is probally the heartiest fish ive ever seen.. man i hope i didnt just jinx myself..lol

I haven't named a fish in years, and haven't lost a fish in years. Coincidence? You be the judge...

Its as true as people thinking that typing the word pleco will kill their pleco. For a while i was using pl*co just in case it was true. :lol2:

lol. i've never heard of the naming your fish will kill it and the typing pleco will kill your pleco. I personally don't name my fish. My gf/exgf's have always wanted to name them but i dont mainly becaues they're not really a pet. more like a hobby. Dont get me wrong i don't treat my fish any different than i would treat my dog. Fish to me is a hobby.

I have heard that if you eat your fish its very bad luck. My mum was telling me the other day that there was a guy who had a fish that he couldn't bring wiht him because he was immigrating overseas. He ate it a week before he was suppose to leave and in that week he lost everything. And couldn't immigrate.

I've also heard for those who believe in eastern luck and all that stuff that you should keep fish in odd numbers. Especially goldfish..

I don't really believe in much of the fish myths i've heard.

No, LOL I do not believe in the curse with naming your fish. I do however believe in a sideline of that curse - never name a replacement fish after the origional! I did that once just because I loved my lil' puffer so much when died (had him for like 5 years), so I got another one, a baby, named him the same as the first -- two weeks later, he pulled a nemo on me! Never had "2nd's" or "Jr.'s" since!!!
