Are the Legends True?

we name our fish because its easier to talk about them and none of my named fish have ever died except "marsellus wallace" (dojo loach) which the cat killed
I think it has to do more with the water conditions, tankmates, and feedin that determines if your fishy dies. Almost all of my fish have names...
. Saying pl*co though...haha...what about that one? If you own a pl*costomus...you aren't supposed to spell the word with an e....or it curses you....who started that?

Personally, Im alittle superstitious, and anything that could help with the fish, that is out of the realm of very wierd, lol, i do. well, another story that makes me believe this myth.. last month it was finally time to add my axolotls to my 90 gal, and they aclimated fine and a week later, the day after id named them, Axel and Lotl.. original i know,lol, they disapeared...*tear..
I've had names for larger fish. I don't buy into the "bad luck" thing.
But just for a laugh, I'll share a story.
We had just picked up an adult napoleon wrasse (aka maori / humphead wrasse) to replace one we had lost. The original was named "Bonaparte" prior to my start there. We all joked about not naming the new one because of this very subject. The animal did very well for quite a while. One day one of our volunteers decided it needed a name....so she called it "Azure". With in three weeks it was dead.
Necropsy showed it had many internal issues we never would have seen, but still................

reading old post faqs at places like thekrib i always come across pl*co. kinda funny. we call my fish all sorts of things around here, the mystics said it was ok.
