Are there asian and south american bichirs?

A lot of good info on bichirs on this thread- not surprisingly from ms polypterid herself, beblondie. I actually think the thread name is a great question. Not only can we enrich this hobby with the study and history of the fish we keep, but we can better understand our role and our earth's history- evolving from the days of pangea to our current state.

well we haven't found one yet thats for sure. but there are some catfish that live in the forest between leaves and rarely touch water down there ( i dont know why there called catfish but there cool.) theres a ton of stuff down there we have yet to verify and learn about. so who knows, its a big forest.
