Are there Eggs?

Ours spawned regularly until our male died. The female would change to bright colors every time she was about to lay eggs. We never wanted to breed so the babies would grow to around a 1/4 inch before the tank mates found them.

Convicts are typically known to take care of their fry. Like already mention first few times can be a bust but once they figure it out, you will have so many babies at different generations you won’t know what to do with them.

I had a pair when I was young that often spawned sometimes a few times a month. Didn’t even matter if they still had some of the previous batches.I didn’t do anything special outside of stuff a chunk of cotton on the intake of my hob filter to keep the fry from being sucked in. Keep in mind they are Uber protective once parents and most other fish in the tank are in danger. I tried to feed the father to my black piranha, but it killed the juvie piranha instead. (I was young and ....)
