These were sold as NIGERIAN SENEGALS. Are these really wild caught?

They look like wild caught. How big are they? I would feed them weather loaches if they are mine, so they could grow to 14"+. One of my captive breed senegalus is already at 13.7" with a diet of weather loaches. But I think the growth rate have somehow stop but I'm not sure yet.

Do you ship to Canada? I want one of those!

They are kinda expensive but it's wort a try if you want to make your bichirs really big, not the average growth in captivity.

You best option would go to the nearest chinese market or china town. They sell them frozen and some are live.

Here is the pic of my captive breed 13.7" sene

They're around 9". Feeding loaches is expensive. I'll stick to market shrimps and massivores. I am not the seller or vendor. PM me for details if you want them ship.

They're known as DOJO here. They're usually $3 a piece so feeding is expensive.

We are still not sure if "polypterus senegalus meridionalis" do exist as they are still in question or they are just a synonym for polypterus senegalus. If they do exist then they are the new holy grail of bichirs as polypterus bichir bichir is now available in the hobby.http://www.polypterus.info/p_meridionalis.htm

whats da bichir you showed in my collection thread? looks like that 1 xD

Found some more wild caught senegal pics but I'm not sure which basin they came from.

If you compare the head to captive breed senegalus which have a blunt face and these wild caught sene have pointer face like a palmas polli.
(not my fish btw)
