as the others have said, those are amongst the most common cichlids available.

if you easily caught them in a lake, then I guess they would be a lot of them and very common, even here those are common species.

No disrespect but are you possative that is what you caught do you have any pictures ? convicts are very small cichlids as are firemouths.

But if they are what you say they are there not native to australia and you should infact report them to your local fish & wildlife authoritys
