are these fish worth price

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah, they're a bit high but it doesn't seem too unreasonable. Go with it, I'm sure you'll be able to sell most if not all of them at those prices.

follow the logic of whats being said...

Those that defended these prices all pretty much said... people who REALLY want these fish won't mind the prices.

In other words, they're over-priced, unless you are desperate to find the particular variety.

I cant speak for the hybrids because I dont follow them, but for the CA/SA cichlids, they arent what Id call over priced. They are about what the average vendor sells them for, so yea, theyre fine.

Go to any vendor on here and look at their prices..they dont differ by much...and expect to pay a lot for festae. Theyre in demand.

Also, theres a big fluctuation in dollars for the same fish. I guess hes basing it on size.

so heres what you have...reasonable and about an average of what everyone else selling online is asking for them.

vieja fenestratus 3" $12

rare red tiger motoguense 2" for $16.

escondido 1.5" $12

f1 cichlasoma festae(red terror) 1"+ $20

2 blue gene jack dempsey females at 3.5" $20 each

electric blue jack dempsey fry at 1"+ $12 each or 5 for $50

Large 7" male red texas and female midas mate(getting hump) $60 pair

Most of the fish I have seen lately in a number of LFS have been pitiful, sickly and not worth anywhere what they were asking. If you find good looking healthy fish, what are a couple extra bucks. It is worth it.

while in Seattle I ventured into 3 poor LFS! so if somone had the fish I want and know the person has kept good care of the fish, I will pay extra for the fish I want.

Those might be good starting prices but isnt it common to allow people to make offers, so maybe give it a while and if they dont sell take the best offer? I havent really done much fish selling.

I drove 1 hr on the freeway, to pay $40 for a 4" Carpinte I wanted. It was expensive, then with the long drive on top but I wanted it. Then I spent $70-$80 for meds for the sick thing. :( It was just a 4" Escondido.. Then later when I changed stock, I took it to the lfs for $20 credit. I didnt want it that way, but it is what it is.
