lol......dont separate them. see if you can just take a peak under

Hi boosten,

I've been taking a peek under but they're always facing me.
Can't find a good angle.

They look like a pair..... but a 180 will be snug for a breeding project

nah i have seen them bred in a 125g before.. most likely i want to say you have a pair because of the fins.. if they were both males i think they would both have nucual humps already. do thyey should anyt courtship behavior?

Hi boosten,

sometimes I see them swimming in circles with the male showing off his gills.
Don't know if its courtship or aggression.
How fat do the females get when they have eggs?
I'm asking because the smaller one seems to have a plump stomach even after not being fed for days.
I starved them once to convert them to eat market shrimps, mussels etc. but they would just spit it out.
They're still on feeders.

How do they do the courtship thing?
What signs should I look for?
Do they get aggressive and hurt each other?

lol she'll get chubby, you should see her tube drop and expose.. the female will push the male around quite a bit. hmm wont take market shrimp? while feeding do they hit the feeders as soon as they hit the water? do you feed one by one?

oh yeah, the female will most likely give the male a good beating. they will swim in circles, swoop and swing back around. there will be lots of gill flaring and shaking with hard hits

I feed them one by one, they don't ussually hit the feeders as it hits the water, they let them swim a couple of inches below the water before hitting them. I read Dieselmack's post regarding converting but not quite successful.
They just tried it then spitted it out.
I think I should starve them more but I always end up feeding them as I pity them starving. longest I've starved them is about 5 days.
some say I should try 2 weeks but I don't want to see them starving. :)

so they like it rough.:naughty:
that's why I see videos on youtube of pbass with torn fins.
do they also like horse whips and candles

They don't make splashes during feeding time, they let the feeder swim for a while then hit. Only time they make splashes is when they're pushing at the divider because there's a feeder on the other side of the divider.
