Store in MA refused to answer me straight forward when I asked but took home 3 anyway. They are about 2 inches right now

Hot merchandise, pygos illegal up there I think.
I was thinking it could have been something along that line...fish look bigger than stated too.

indicated, piranha (Pygocentrus spp. and Serrasalmus spp.) are illegal (per the link) to be kept in state of Mass without a permit. The store might have a permit, but if you don't, you may want to return them.

A permit....ridiculous! Here is what we will do,we'll make it illegal for folks to have certain fish unless they pay us for the right to do so!
