Also at least 1 ppt salt should be added because ich hates salt, and any affected fish is dealing with many many microscopic holes in its skin from the embedded parasite. Salt will help those heal and help their osmoregulation.
People have had success with the heat only treatment. For fish like Rams you can't just add meds and/or salt. Same with other sensitive fish. But A few have said they have added salt but very small amounts. I hear 86F stops reproduction and anything above it kills Ich. I don't know, but it seems to have worked.
