ah, it's because it's still so young. at that age their disc is still thin enough for light to pass through. as it gets older, you will see the underside darken.
The only true way to ID a retic is by the size of the flap on the side of it's tail. Markings vary so much that they cannot be used to ID. I think he is awesome looking and think he should be in your tank already. A fat retic at that size with those markings is rare.
You are absolutely right. I've been fighting it all week but I'm going to get it. I'll try to negotiate a bit first, but its coming home. Do I need to be concerned about having two males?
