I took these pictures at one of the nearest fish stores last year. I was surprised to see Red Belly Piranhas sold here, I have only seen Diamond Rhoms. They look great though.

Another question is, what's the difference between a Red Belly Pacu and a Red Belly Piranha? And what's this Pacu anyway, is it just a different name for Piranhas or just closely related to Piranhas? I am not into Piranhas, I just thought I would ask here.

Thank you for reading.

Parahna have triangular teeth (meat eating/shredding)
Pacu Human like teeth, omivore?(spelling) (veggie eating)

bottom of a Piranahs mouth extends longer.

I've heard that the basic way to tell the difference is that the Pirahna have an extended lower jaw (due to the teeth) and their eyes are set closer to the mouth.
