are these ture bagariu yarelli aka goonch catfish

awww really that really suck to find out they are no goonchs and they only get a tiny 6''... i think ill just throw them in with my piranha and see what happens lol really mad about this idk why thow

Same thing happened to me...I bought one thinking it was a real goonch.
They are still neat catfish though! Don't condemn them to a piranha death quite yet!
 
I assume yall were victim to TFD on aquabid...I've mentioned to them before that they aren't even a bagarius species at all...they just replied with "my importer said they were" and asked me for an ID

That's exactly what happened to me! I got a nice juvenile aba aba from them though.
I just didn't get goonched. I was able to get a beautiful true Bagarius yarrelli (although it MIGHT be Bagarius suchus) from All-Happy on this site!

yes i did get them from TFD lol not going to feed them to piranha:)
 
If you were anywhere near me I'd take em off your hands. I like small cats and the fact that they look goonch-esque is pretty cool. It does really suck that you were misled though.
 
Please don't dispose of these. They're great fish, and 100000X more capable of being cared for / housed properly by the vast majority of fish keepers than the goonch. Stinks you didn't get what you want, but do not blame / condemn the fish for that.
