yea that smaller one is pretty funny looking. i just put them in the same tank today just to see if they would tolerate each other. i had to separate them shortly after lol.

i didnt ask the guy when i bought these as 1" fry if they parents were wild caught or tank raised. doesnt that usually have an effect on the way they look when they grow out

No, the way festae look has nothing to do with generation but all to do with genetics

I got two wild caughts. One is a male forsure and the other was an assumed female, but looks like a male to me now. If they are both males, I dont mind trading you one male for one of your females if you are interested. Both are 5-6inches long. From Ecuador.

Both females, and I agree with the ugly duckling comment, looks like short-bodied or deformed, I certainly wouldn't breed from it when you've got a much better looking girl with the first one.

Now that i think about it. that one doesn't eat much and it grew much shorter than the other one. i guess that is a result of her not eating as much. is there any way i can get her to eat more? different food? put i her in a tank alone? i have the water at about 88 degrees i do a 40% water change weekly in the tank she is in..
