Anyone have any idea if All-glass versa-tops are tempered or not? I need to cut one down and I don't want to waste a bunch of cash.
Are versa-tops tempered?

in my experience with glass which is alot there is almost always a stamp in one of the corners of temp glass stating that it is tempered safety glass and usually who manufactured it. 99.9% of the time it is always there unless someone neglected to do there job .
Perfect guys, thanks for the help, thats going to save me a lot of money....I'm just going to buy three of the cheap glass versa-tops, and cut them down to size. I think they are only like 13.99 each...So for 42 Bucks plus the cost of lighting ($150.00) I'm going to have a mint hood on my aquarium.
i think what jackylo568 is trying to say cheap tops are not a great choice they break easy ??
i disagree i've broken tempered glass with a drastic change in heat now i cut a lot of my own glass have yet to have any probs as long as you are carefull
just a tip buy the best glass cutter you can oil it when cutting dont press too hard and one cut only cut on a flat hard surface and a quick snap on the edge of the cut wear gloves i've gotton a couple nasty gashs from cutting glass ..

I just go to Home Depot and have them cut glass for me. You can usually get your peice of glass and have it cut for less than $5.
