Used to be a cat person all the way, but lost all my tolerance to them (allergies-wise) when I moved out...

People who have this weird cat-phobia or hate them usually never have owned a cat, or were scratched once when they were little/saw Lady & the Tramp and were scarred for life. Serious, I've had many people come over to my house when I live with my family, and they couldn't believe how affectionate and cool my cats were... they thought they were evil until then.

Dogs are fun because you can take them into the bush with you, but they require more attention than cats, which is why I don't have one yet.

My dad is a vet so I grew up with lots of animals... 7 cats and 3 dogs (plus fish, turtles, guinea pigs, etc.) at one point, so I've seen my share of both. You can't compare 'dog vs. cat', it is like saying "are you a bicycle person or a hat person"...

I love them both..
I voted dog b.c. that was my most recent adoption but I like them both the same. I have a cat and 2 dogs (ones mine and my bf's, one is my moms). If ever had to pick between the dogs and the cat I couldnt pick either one b/c I love them both and they are both awesome pets. I love cats but I also love dogs.

I've never been able to own a dog. :(

My parents never let me have one. And even once I got married, we didnt have the time for one.

I've had cats since i was a baby. My first cat my parents got when I was 1 year old. I grew up with her and she died when I was 19. :(

If you grow up with a pet like that, you will inevitably grow very close. I never had the chance to grow close with a dog.

My brother in law had the same experience, only with a dog. He never owned a cat.
He hates cats more than anything. He would probably hit one with his car on purpose if he had the chance.

Two different experiences created two different preferences. Though I dont understand dog people's hostility toward cats. If you dont like them, dont have one. You dont have to say how horrible they are and how miserable of an animal they are. How would you feel if someone talked that way about dogs. ...
It would kind of make you ach inside a little.

I wish people would just let other people like what they like and leave them alone about it. :irked:

Personally i'm tired of my brother in law making smart ass remarks about how stupid cats are. He does it just in spite.
Thats just not right.

I prefer cats over dogs for a few reasons. Dogs have to be let out every couple hours for exercise and poo poo. Dogs need a person for play time. Cats jump and run and chase things on there own, with no one having to help them. Cats can go poo poo on there own, indoors. Cats can be left alone for days as long as they have food and water. Dogs need a baby sitter. Cats just go find somewhere to sleep when friends come over. Dogs want to jump on everyone and bark and sniff your bum, some even rape your leg. Cats are a more compact pet compared to most dogs which means more room for fish tanks. And the best reason of all why cats are better is cats love to watch fish so that means they enjoy our hobby. Plus there way smarter.

i love them both-but im partial to dogs..

i love the big knock-you-down slobbery ones..

the reason why theres not an option for both is because if i did the option for both ANYONE who owns both will click on both, which really isnt gonne give me a definitive answer is it? and id rather you have to make that difficuilt decision in deciding ;)

for the record my dog not only dosnt slobber over my face but it dosnt eat its own crap, chew everything up and crap everywhere, thats just what people with really bad dogs will tell you! however everyone i know with a cat always finds unwelcome furballs placed in strategic locations :P theyre planning something big... just keep watching ;)

The Cat's Diary

Day 983 of My Captivity

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Ba...rds!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now ...

i really about peed myself laughing. keep in mind im on some heavy cold medicine. lol. but for me i love dogs, but cats are really smart. ill say both
