LOL you see things like that on our tv stations all the time. They did one where they asked people to recite our national athem and not one person they pulled off the side of the road could.

It's always a good idea to base your judgment of an entire group of people on a few individuals... that's never caused any problems before...
Plus that is a joke news story, like our shows "The Daily Show" and "The Cobert Report". You could edit it either way, to make people look smart or stupid.

there is always going to be dumbasses, reguardless of your location...
plus some people see life in the sense that if it is unimportant to them, then it is irrelevant to know that info as well, yet they may make a fool out of you on another subject, you never know.

Apperantly the people they asked are that stupid, or flat out just dont care. American Society isnt based on random trivia inteligence, and as proven by the Election of Billy Clinton twice and a strong showing by his wife currently, inteligence isnt the average Americans strength. Ask the group there what Brittany Spears did yesterday and they could tell you because hey, that **** is important. Ask them where the nearest Starbucks is and they can tell you. Ask them what the Janjaweed are and where they are at / doing there and you have just played a winning round of stump the chump. I love America and am proud to live here and to have served in the Military for 20+ years but the average citizen on the street isnt concerned with detail that dont evolve around THEM and their little world.
