Yea Cons are pretty aggro. My male, who I am thinking about naming "Bruno", is a wife beater.

i just named my male convict OJ a few days ago after he mauled a female con for the second time.

and ive had convicts rob my flowerhorns of their eggs. i was pretty pissed noticing my 5 inch flowerhorns loose the eggs to a 1 inch convict.

I always here Cons are very aggressive and territorial but why is mine a pansie. He won't really fight or stick up for himself unless my FM goes in his cave. Thats the only time I see him really pissed off. Also no one messes with him besides the FM. She is sooooo damn mean. Maybe I just got a peaceful con. I love him though probably my favorite.

Wow, dasalotta fry!

I had some baby Cons once...they didn't last with the Pbass.

I love cons. My lfs had some lil 1" cons for $1 so I figured, why not? I bought 5 and dropped them in with my O (8") figuring either they'll live or he'll eat them...well he's close to 10" now and the cons are 2.5-3" (all 5 survived). It's funny, the O doesn't bother with the cons at all, and they don't openly challenge him...but my 8" uaru will chase them occasionally, go figure, an uaru chasing the cons. The smallest one (a female) appears to be shortbody...

i had my pair for a year and a half before passing them on to a friend. They bred on average every 3 weeks, whilst still caring for the previous fry. They were fabulous to watch and great parents but they bullied everything i tried to introduce (synodontis eupterus, 8" plecostomus) frustrating as hell. But they are a true fab cichlid, gotta love all that personality in such a small package!!
