There's a lot of isolated places up here in the north... I just hope if it happens it happens in the spring. Without a growing season, fishing, hunting, scavenging become the only options. In the spring time there warm weather, the ability to make a decent shelter, just last week near me, a guy pulled out of his driveway to go to work and his truck went in the ditch about a mile down the road. They found him dead not 100 yards from his house frozen to death. He was 46 years old. Cold weather kills those who are unprepared.

It sure is expensive to fly to Paraguay too, like 1500-2Gs a head and Id hate to get stuck in a place like Colombia or a big city in a Brazil when the world ends cause there is ALOT of stops from the Bluegrass state to Paraguay

I live in a good location... small city/large town that is surrounded by vast bush, plenty of fresh water, game, etc. The only downside is the -40 temperatures in the winter.
I'm by no means paranoid and I don't spend much time thinking about "what if" scenarios (except when I am bored and working in the bush during the summer), but this is one of the reasons I would never want to live in a big city again. We know from nature/agriculture that it is bad to have many of the same species jammed into the same space... think crop diseases, pollution, and pandemics.
Cities are the last place I'd ever be if the bird flu mutated or any of the other mentioned scenarios went down. If your supplies were cut off, you'd be in a big concrete area with millions of anxious people

We have enough food in our house to live off of for months. I would have to go old skool close combat on terrorists if we were being invaded though... bow and arrow. 26" machete, 17" machete and plenty of knifes and throwing axes lolol.

I would thrive in this scenario. Honestly I am a hippie-naturalist-boy scout-survivalist. I would be the guy that people come to see so I can sew wounds together and barter food and stuff like that. I dream of a world like that actually..(sadly).. Its also very possible that any of these things may happen at any given moment. Sadly after the SHTF I would pull my family together and live off the land and what we could salvage.

I always think what if zombies attack. I'd be pretty fine. barbed wire everywhere around here. if I had a few mates with me, we could go down the paddocks, two guys covering and one guy getting the wire, then all we'd have to do is walk with our supplies find a spot on one of the mountain/hills around us, wire ourselves a little hold. dig trenches, barbed wire etc and we can see over the land without worrying about zombies. then do nightly raids on houses taking supplies clothing etc needed for making scrim nets and ghillie suits. I also know how to make potassium nitrate easy enough so we could make explosives. also know how to make acetone peroxide so I could make landmines etc. except acetone peroxide is very unstable, but could be good for a last resort, also could use as a primary explosive for something like ANFO. It's all easy. for food we could last ages on killing birds and cows and horses, water we could make carbon filters to filter the water from the streems as much as we could, also boiling the water to reduce chances of malaria and waterborn deseases. medical could be boiled clothing for bandages for cuts and such. if needed bullet proof clothing could be teracota, and also could be laminated glass and polycarbinate. that could deaden the bullets, not nessarily save me from the bullet. shelter could be plant matter and a ditch. also for ammo lots of people have guns around here and all I'd need to do is raid houses again, maybe steel a angle grinder to cut into peoples gun cabinets (mine require electricty). thing is I only have one magazine for each of my weapons. that might make some trouble.

remember the scene where the woman with the machete and her parter are in the house with the lead character and she asks her partner if hes wounded he shakily says no but she looks in his eyes and knows that he is infected and since the window of oppourtunity is like 30 seconds till the rage virus takes him she puts her machete to work and solves the problem
well thats how it would be in a zombie scenario for me if you showed the least sign of going grey and turning there would no hesitation with me go grey you dont live another day

I am prepaired for about a 30 day civil unrest situation i have water a gal a day for each person for a little over a month and several months worth of canned food or dry goods. I have generator but not enough gas might last a week if i ran it 8 hours a day my city will only let u store 50 gal of gas. I figure i can get through a month of shtf with my ammo,food,water,first aid supply. I have a gas mask i got from cheaper than dirt the finnish model does anyone know what the can of white powder is for?
