thats life, you cant hide from death. whats the point of living, if you can live forever. be grateful for today, and what you have.

Actually an excellent way to look at things, and instant death would be nice. Suffering and a slow death? Not for me or my family.

i grow loads of veg in my garden so maybe i'd get by on that for a while...but yeah..i dont think it would last for long lol

Its not really paranoia. Being prepared to take responsibility for yourself and your family is not being paranoid, the world is NOT safe. Ever since I became a father (two years ago this coming up V-day) it has actually hurt me to think about my daughter suffering in any way. In a scenario like I mentioned before, if it was just my self I really wouldnt care what happened but now its not just me...I do care how they make it.

I feel the same way as you. I am prepared to do whatever it takes to care for my family. If it means keeping food for incase SHTF...then so be it. Economy sucks right now...you never know what may happen...that's all I am saying...

And THAT is the issue... you wouldn't be the only one that is short on food. There are people out there who would have no problem coming through and taking you out so that they could have your food...that's where protection comes in...

Well I did have some dry foodstuff stashed away for such a situation but mice got into it.
