At my desk
Because I am...

I just successfully test filled my 500+ tank (third time is a charm) and it scares the hell out of me to walk in front of it!

Its 3/4" glass all the way around with a 1" plywood bottom, and it hasn't had water in it for a long time. It's been settling on the stand, (steel stand), for the last 1/2 hour and it creaks every so often... very unnerving

Is the tank setup in your basement?Post up some pic.

Its in my kitchen\living room! I'll post pics when its completed, cross my heart.

Yea, that would make me nervous too. I've spilled 3 gallons before and it made a mess, 500 would be insane. BUT think of all the cool fish you can put in there. I hope it's a sturdy stand though that thing has to weigh well over 2 tons.

yep... not of what it could do to me im not at all worried about that... but of the mess they could make... scares the crap out of me.... but more than that... what the guy i rent my house from would say/do.... i dont think he would flip too much.. but i dont think he would be at all happy with me

I'm afraid of that happening with every tank. Even a ten gallon would be a huge mess. We have lots of electronics, and I'm a firm believer of Murphy's Law.

I imagine that a 500 gallon breaking would be like... the elevator scene from "The Shining" but with water instead of blood. Horrible.:WHOA:

Take a rubbler mallet and tap all the corners. If it survives that you should be able to walk infront of it with no worries....

wow i thought my 210 was big, imagine 500 gallons of water inside your house.... i would need a heavy dosage of Valium to walk past that tank daily...
