ugh, I can hear my english teacher rolling in her grave :yuck:

And thanks to NCLB, I have to spend 15 minutes at the beginning of class correcting sentences. Oh I forgot I teach high school Social Studies.

Is it three digits? I thought it were just anything below twenty. I smapose it doeseth make sents though.

All I have to say is I'm glad I was raised and taught properly. I wouldn't trade my education for anything. I hated it at the time, but now I am very proud of it. :D

I was learned propa, my good man . Step into my world and numbers are all we deal with.

I'm glad that, for the most part, everyone here has been able to voice their opinion on this subject. It was just something different to talk about. Thanks to all who have participated.

Now I must finish the WC in my 75g (sorry Mike), before the water overflows!!!

The debate will continue.

Try going from a Northern state like Nebraska, and then coming down south, dirty south. Its such a HUGE change let me tell you!! Nothing is the way it should be. You can't understand a good bit of the people. Its like some of the people just come up with their own ghetto form of language. Really took me a while to get used to it and to be able to understand it good. Still have to ask some people to repeat themselves though.

One thing that always cracks me up/annoys me is that it seems like every word either has to end in 'er' or 'a'. Minnows are not minnows, they are either minners or minnas. Tornados are not Tornados, they are Tornadas. Armadillos are not Armadillos, they are Armadillers. The list goes on....

LOL! I know what you mean PP. I would challenge anyone from the US to go to Scotland or Ireland or even parts of England. Most of us wouldn't understand a word!!

Yeah, but the sad part is this is still in the States and its still hard to understand them...haha. No need to leave the States...just come down here....Georgia though, they have some proper grammar there. Its cool...

Fort Worth was just like that...they said I "talked fast" and they could "tell I was from up north"....LMAO! I asked maybe 250,000 people if they knew where Washington state was, and no one believed there was another one besides DC....WTF? I know where ALL the states are...I always found that funny, that the whole city was not taught....Serious education lapse down there...

That's funny. I remember when I was stationed in upstate NY, when I was in the Army, I was stationed with a kid from "Souf Cackalcky". He spent a couple years up there and said that whenever he went home, they would make fun of him for "sounding like a Northerner". He could have fooled me! He had one of the deepest Southern drawls I'd ever heard!
