it takes time for them to adapt.

Feed them at night, when it is absolutely dark. It'll eat, then.
That's what I've been doing. I just worry when I don't see a fish eat at all.

With my ghost kinfe I can actually here his jaw clicking when he eats...You could try to put some low LED lights in the room so there's barely any light, let your eyes get use to it, and then see if you can see his profile swimming about and try to feed him that way. I did that for a while with my ghost knife because I was worried about him eating too.

my gold ck is super duper not shy. i think it might be because for the first 7 years of his life i didnt really give him a house to live in other than this tiny pagoda he out grew real fast. he has a house and a summer house too now. he'll stay in there but if i come by he'll usually want to play and stuff.

I'd say for a seven year old it has not grown much...

Great looking fish and I hope mine develops the same behaviour but a much larger size.

I had an RCK that was terrified of everything and rarely came out. Years ago I had a big CK that hogged all attention. But, he was much, much bigger than the RCK.
As for feeding, I had a few hiding spots for my little RCK and would make sure a few chunks of food found there way to the entrance. I would feed the boisterous ones in the opposite side of the tank and steer chunks to the cave entrance.
Its a pain, but it got the RCK eating.

my ck is shy when i walk up to the talk or get real close to fast. then he just gets used to me and gets out of his dark slate rock house and goes in my vine cave...which i can see him in!

I would imagine they are shy, being that during the day they do nothing, and when the lights go off you prolly go to sleep, but my friend, but, thats when he comes out to play.
