Are your Severums very friendly? Mine is...

I have a red streak and the second day I had him, he was not scared and hiding and follows me as I walk from one side of tank to the other.
He also ate frozen BW right out of my fingers on the second day (vid in my sig)

So are your Sevs real friendly? Let me know what kind of sev and if they are outgoing or not.
Just curious if this is a species trait, although I know every fish is different.

Yes my pair are like puppys. When I clean the tank they swim all around my hands and arms.
 
I don't own severums but I've taken care of MANY at my old job, have a few friends that have them, and my dad also has them in a tank I set up for him that I give him guidance on an almost daily basis for. IME they are very friendly, personable and peaceful even to small fish. That said, they will also not just back down easily if another fish is aggressive towards them (they are still cichlids, after all). I have yet to encounter a severum that has no personality.
 
My normal green sev was really shy until I got my oscar. Once the oscar started begging, the sev picked it up really quickly.
 
My severums are hilarious - they've definitely all got their own personality. Generally, they're very friendly and like to beg for me, at least. There was one nasty one though, and funnily enough, he's also terrified of me... so if I just walk near the tank, he stops the bullying and hides.
 
Sevs are all characters. However, some can be nervous and skittish when young. Depends a lot on how they are brought up.

THey can also be right little bullies at times, espec to conspecifics.

Still love them though !!!!

I do want severums. I think they are gorgeous but i can't get them in my area. For the most part from what I read they are friendly.

I forgot his name, but the big dawg cichlid supplier here - last I checked he had them at a reasonable price, I think he had reds too.

If it makes you feel better I had to wait a month to get mine once I found a LFS source.
It was a tough month :D
