Arethese flowerhorns?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no no, I like where this is going. Now e has to make a rebuttle, at which point, majikterror will return the favor by stating how immature he is. It's actually kind of amusing. :D

To me a flowerhorn is a mutt fish that's no different than someone breeding two species together in their home aquarium. True, the flowerhorn is fertile and breeds to other flowerhorns, but they're still a home grown hybrid and they just don't have what the pure parents species have...natural beauty.

so its natural ARTIFICIAL beauty

Wahoo!! Its not locked!! I can add my worthless moronic two cents! WOOT!! Aight, what you should do with those fry from your Trimac/Red Devil is keep the ones you like, pick a certain trait...like more red, longer fins, varied pattern...then grow those ones out and breed them to the mother. And continue this process until you have singled out the desired traits that you want. Genetics are soo kewl...love them. I know someone that used to do it for angels...controlled inbreedin and all...got some REALLY pimp results! Fish are great for this since they breed so regularly...:D

And what would he do with those thousands of fry? Cull them all? Or worse, sell them as something they are not and flood the market? Bad idea imo, unless he has tons of tanks and has not qualms about killing hundreds if not thousands of fish to make his own cheap quality FHs...

Since when does that stop people :grinno:

I would give them away to friends and hobbyists that I knew wouldn't attempt to breed them and just wanted a pretty fish. As far as selling them, you could but I dunno what you'd get for them. I wouldn't mind seeing a pic of this hybrid, though. :)
