There i can prove you wrong because i have 9 arapaimas and 5 are bigger than 2.8 meters and here a pic right under but not all nine are shown but will tommorrow i hope and if anyone who is wondering the size of the old pool it is 10 by 20 meters

OMG they are HUGE!
One day I would love to own a pond that would be large enough to keep a couple A. Gigas , it is on my bucket list !

Im gonna say your highly right but they apparently can get to 15 feet..:popcorn: i wouldd like to say that is probably in the wild back in the day..huh?
