o_o I didn't know fish eggs could be toxic..........

mmm i'm not convinced this would be something everyone would know or would potentially look into before eating. i mean it's not something you would immediately associate with toxins, right? things like fruits, berries and mushrooms sure you would think about it... but fish eggs?

i know gar eggs are toxic but not sure it is something that everybody just knows.a lot of fish eggs are edible so i dont see it as something that dumb for someone to try

I find it ironic that one of the dudes was named Darwin! haha

But no, actually red neck caviar is bowfin eggs. There is actually a pretty big demand for it and farms devoted to the raising of amia calva soley for their eggs! They are suppose to be the third best caviar after sturgeon and paddlefish.

Wow, that's pretty neat. I didn't know that. I also didn't know that gar eggs were poisonous.
