Armatus, AFT, Arowana, and wolf

Good point on the wolf. Sounds odd, but I think you are correct on adding him last for sure. I now recall trying to raise 2 small commons together and with others in a 75 for awhile and it didn't end well. The wolves were added first. They didn't get along. One left and he accepted no other tank mates after. I will ponder a bit more on him.

The guppies are for feeders. Hopefully allowing me time necessary for other things and allowing the baby atf and others to grow out. Regardless of what anyone says this is a massive tank for a 3,4-6" fish to grow out. It is my only tank. Established guppies will allow me a bit of time and frustration. I will probably pick up another 75 for a quarantine tank in a bit.

Previously I grew the armatus in the 75s until I pretty much got them off live. This is a challenger in a big tank.

The tetras I made mistakes with before. I couldn't see my 15" + fish messing with them too much. I think the overflow was the nightmare. I recall a lot in the sump. Never had issues with the FX5s. I will appropriately screen everything and try again. They will only be added when the fish are 12" or larger. I will cross that bridge when it comes.

This will be a very interesting build as In trying to make cover for the smaller fish down low without taking swimming space from the big guys. The pics I have in my head will be hard to transfer to reality. I want to try some live plants again too. Sooo.... yeah let the games begin

Aro. To be honest the reason why I would go black instead of silver is the droop eye. My silver got it. I loved my silver though. The armatus tolerated him pretty good and he got pretty tamed. Very cool fish.

Should be fun!

I am also considering a 3D background for front and sides. Sides to help vision impacts if right material is found

Auto correct is going crazy!! "Help with impacts"

Black aros are generally the most peaceful of aros. They usually grow 1" a month vs the silver's 2" a month. Also I've yet to see one over 30".

I only ever kept one aro. I had it with a wolf as well they had no interactions. Ive never kept a wolf solo lol. The wolf that was with that aro was at the top begging for food half the day too but they still ignored each other.

And your tank is big. Didn't mean to offend you by any means, I was under the assumption you will keep them for life so I give advice off of the fishes potential. A 4' fish in a 32" tank wouldn't be right is all, while it will take years to get there, again I assumed you'd have them for the duration of their life.

I look forward to seeing your tank complete.

No offense taken bro. To be honest I think a lot of the times size that fish get in aquariums are over estimated and can be controlled to an extent.... my personal opinion based with a lot of experience (on experience from a long time ago anyway).

I would like to see anyone with a 4ft gatf in an aquarium, but of course I see your point.

I am definitely not worried about the aro and wolf interacting. I am really concerned with Mr. Armatus thinking he is mr. Big bada$$ and messing with something he has no idea what the outcome will be. I know what the outcome could be. I wish i had pics to share of my wolf. He was a true monster.

It'll be doable but expect to have tattered fins and missing scales here and there. And we do something wrong in the US apparently lol but over in Asia they have no problem growing atf etc large

Agreed, my opinion on growth was always hormone related (lack of better scientific word)..... must have a stupid amount of WC happening or the fish will only get so big. I am sure there are species that it won't make any difference, but that's been my experience.
Also as people have said, when they are stocked tight they almost have to get along with each other so aggression for territory goes down. Might be a smack or nip from time to time to say get the hell out of my way!!, but other than that they always seem to get along. I personally do not like tanks like that. I don't see how the fish could either, but I am not sure if the fish like being in a glass cage at all.
This will be a slow process for sure as I want to make sure everything goes as planned.... within reason of course!
