As some on here may know I have a friend that loves predatory characins. Personally, not my cup of tea. Anyways he has a lot of exp. with Odoes and Aces but wants to know if it is possible to keep GATF and Armatus together.
What size of tank he needs, etc....

I've seen it done quite a bit, but I'd add more than one armatus, it would probably reduce fights.

ive only seen it successful once. usually the atf gets shanked.

i believe the trick is a very large tank. i also believe that an armatus will chill out when he gets older. i recently added a bass to my armatus tank and they r livin it up together:D

Gotta see this.

It has worked but it usually won't work when juvi armatus and juvi GATF are put in the same tank b/c the growth rate for the armatus Is a LOT faster then GATF. thus the armatus will end up going after the smaller GATF. but it you can grow your GATF out for say 3+ years and get it over 16" it won't be a problem if they have a big enough tank to live in.

For the same price as a sub adult gatf or armatus you can by a large nice used tank around 180-220g to keep the other in.

Its this reason that makes me think its not worth the risk.
If these were common one hundred dollar fish we were talking about I would feel differently.

alot of people want that 1 "ultimate show tank"... i just want 1 other fish to stay alive in the same tank as my armatus...

i will never try the arm/atf combo ever again. armatus hate how atf keep zipping over top of them...

I think the only fish that your armatus won't kill would be a BRICK fish.

Damn it I had a funny pic of a brick painted like a fish and i can't up load it.:nilly:
