if it's an armatus .... great .... if it is not, it was well worth the gamble and you still have a fish, something tangible....

if 50 dollars is so much that some of the folks here who bought some of these fish, no offense but maybe you shouldnt be risking 50 bux on such a small fish to begin with, knowing that it could, god forbid, die on you...

not trying to defend anyone here but I was told the same thing when i first know of this deal...

  1. they are collected from the same river as the armatus that were previously sold
  2. too small to identify 100% armatus or tat
  3. NO PROMISES that they are all armatus...like WES said...some could be dats, too hard to tell
  4. if you want to wait and let rich grow them out before he price the armatus accordingly, then wait...save the 50 towards the NEW armatus price if they turn out to be real armatus...
I find it funny that some ppl have buyer's remorse and try to discourage others from buying or being sarcastic about what they think was an impulse buy...

folks, you all went to rich's house to pick these up...you saw them with your eyes and picked out the ones you want...why not just wait and see what you really got in YOUR gamble instead of justifying your impulsiveness or buyer's remorse...

i got some and you know what, if they are armatus, great and if they are not, oh well...more fish to add to my small arse tank hahahaha

everything was disclosed up front so let's just see what we all got in a month or so...that is if i dont kill mine first hahahahaha:ROFL:

:iagree:

i think there are both species mixed in the group. there are a couple that looks like tats here, and one or two that look like armatus. time will tell!

the first few pics posted looked like armatus.
but the one with the quarter next to it looks tatish.

To me only the picture posted by DBJunkie is an Armatus, the rest are TATS.

Im just waiting for the next Armatus alarm:D Cause i will do it again:ROFL:
and again, and again. Till i get an Armatus for $50.00:D (even though by then I probly will have spent more than)

Im cool with my 2 Payaras, Im just trying to figure out what I have:headbang2

I don't think anyone here really has buyer's remorse. Nor do I see anyone trying to turn future buyers away.In my personal experience I had an Armatus and somehow I'm at fault for killing it. I just want another one really really bad. Just not $700 bad. Not bad enough to spend 3 times what I did for my first one. So to me I can't help but feel a little disapointed that I haven't found a replacement yet. BUT I knew the risk and I still bought. Am I un-happy? HELL NO. Could I be happier....sure LOL But anyone could be in any situation. Will I enjoy watching the lil Tats grow out? You bet!Rich you have been nothing but honest through all this and I applaud you for that not only that but for being out on the fore front watching out for all us exotic fishkeepers trying to bring in what people want.... I believe I speak for everyone here when I say THANK YOU for giving us this opportunity!

thank you for all the comments. i hope for the best to the people who already purchased the fish. i want to let the members know and the buyers that it can be an armatus and it can be a 'tat'. I am being straight forward here and not fooling anyone else. if you feel that you are not confident on the fish, please hold on to your decision and wait until i can grow them out. but please do not expect me to price a 4 to 5 inch fish at $50 since i need to risk a lot to bring them to size. :D
