So, what do you guys think? Workable?

Looks like an 8 inch sheeth going in with about a 7 inch Armatus. It just makes me a bit nervous, as neither of these guys are exactly cheap....

YOU cease to amaze me with the lack of pictures ;)

Just kidding. I would think it would work.

Hmmm....Since I just got my armatus I cant say for sure, but my red-tail payara HATES anything long and silver....since the sheath fish is long and silver and pretty much fill the same niche I would beat that it wouldnt...

Good point - expensive fish... if you CAN, I would house them separately just in case...

But then again one is just a tetra with long teeth, right? (I know there's a flame coming for this one!)

I wouldn't try it til the armatus is a bit larger than the sheeth. It may work but we all know most catfish are big dumpsters so I would hate to see your armatus be lunch.

This is all just personal opinion as no one has tried it yet. Just how I would feel.

I am seconds away from just going on and buying the darn thing and seeing what happens............ grrr..

I wouldnt do it. Period. Neither of the fish are easy to come by, much less at a decent price...Armatus don't like other "Silver" fish...if you check out anyone that has aan Armatus for a long period they cannot house them with other Silvers for a reason. A lot of hobbyist ave tried with other Payara, ATF's, Silver dollars, etc...only to have the Armatus kill or badly injure the fish by. A lot of these guys have tried with Goliath ATF's only to end up seperating it later with large Armatus Teeth marks....same with other Armatus...
