I wouldnt do it. Period. Neither of the fish are easy to come by, much less at a decent price...Armatus don't like other "Silver" fish...if you check out anyone that has aan Armatus for a long period they cannot house them with other Silvers for a reason. A lot of hobbyist ave tried with other Payara, ATF's, Silver dollars, etc...only to have the Armatus kill or badly injure the fish by. A lot of these guys have tried with Goliath ATF's only to end up seperating it later with large Armatus Teeth marks....same with other Armatus...

My thoughts exactly. If you do try it I would have a tank ready for when the armatus starts taking shots at the sheat fish.

Do it man.....it's not like you can't throw the divider back in that puny lil tank...LMAO! There's plenty of room.

Depends on your Armatus. I think I got a retarded one......it hasn't wounded or killed anything and it's in with a bunch of silvery fish. Iactually think I'm going to pick up some bala sharks just to verify.......

Tossing the divider back in would not be a bad idea..... Damnit I am torn here... Normaly when this happens I end up spending $$$$. I guess look for updates this weekend...

I see most of you have trouble with mid-tank swimmers. Has there been a problem with catfish?

Good point someone said bottom dwellers are ok.. I know rays work. Chris/unknownuza13 could tell you as his is a bit larger and he's had it in community tank before..

I believe top dwellers work too....

I mean c'mon mine's in with a pink tail chelceus that is roughly 1.5 inches SMALLER than the Armatus. Had a little bit of a tattered tail ONCE.....never even had missing scales. I believe this is cause it sits at the very top of the tank. The Armatus never leaves mid-bottom water.

I wouldn't hesitate to put an Armatus in with ANY kind of cat excluding bulgarius.

Sorry I didn't know the sheath fish was a catfish. I only quickly glanced at the picture and saw it had a similar enough body type to paraya and was silver. I would think they would be "ok" together but still be ready with the divider because even though mine is with a ray he does take false charges at the ray quite often where he will sprint full speed at him and then turn away at the last second. Most of us are still dealing with basically baby armatus as well. I don't think when the armatus reaches 20" those pink tailed characins are going to be safe.

im not sure what a sheeth fish is but if its a cat it might be ok. if they are the same size i would try it. is a sheeth very aggressive?
