This is good input.Nice to hear other foods that have been accepted. That's really strange how the color is fading due to a better food. I would like to get mine off goldfish too as it's getting expensive at 6.00 a crack. He has downed a 5incher, unreal what they can swollow. He is currently at 13" and most recent pic is this.

wow 13" already? o.o they do grow fast, id rem you got a baby a few months back :o

I finally got a friggin camera so I'll try to get some pics/vids up.

Mine is eating shrimp, scallops, smelt, silversides, krill and lately nightcrawlers.

It seems to be getting more aggressive at feeding times now that I added the gars. But the big ray is scaring the living crap out of him (armatus) at the same time.

Rhaph finally had to be moved..... Wasn't a matter of the Armatus attacking him but rather him trying to escape from the Armatus whenever it swam by. He rubbed his nose raw on the glass just freeking out trying to swim through the side of the tank.

dang he looks clean! keep tryin to get him off live it helps the wallet. i was paying about 6 bucks a day to feed my guy.

i dont thing he is getting as many nutrients in his shrimp. maybe if i can get him on smelt and some other foods, he will get his color back.

so what is a prawn?

Thanks...he is pristine..and I love him/her. Note the difference in the tail in the photo and my avitar. Big change:) Now he looks like the real deal.Ohhh listen to this, last night I dropped in a 4" feeder for the Armatus( he finally eats with the lights on now) and he struck at it and missed came around for another strike and my Arro was in the same area as the feeder and took the hit from below instead of the feeder. I swear to God I heard the strike and it was a real grab...no joke. He hit the Arro right behind the pectoral fins from below which is the skinniest part of the Arro's body and it didn't do a thing. Not even a scratch...thank God.All was well right after it was a case of mistaken identity in my opinion.Do Arro's have tough scales or something? I have seen a feeder shanked by my Armatus when he was a bit smaller and it was a bad wound. They are amazing fish. I almost forgot, sorry prawn are large tiger shrimp.

It is the fastest growing fish I have ever owned in 33+ years of fishkeeping actually personally nothing has even come close. And also alot thicker too. he has grown about 9" in that short time. I got him at 4" on the 4th of September. He didn't grow at all for the first 2 months because he was in a 33 gallon and hardly ate a thing but as soon as I threw him in the 230 he exploded and ate like a pig the very next day and hasn't stopped.:)
