ok so I gave in....I noticed my armi moving its jaw up and down and sometimes leaving it open....well I know that Piranha do that when they are hungry so I gave in and froze a minnow for 20 minutes and threw it in the tank. Right when it hit the water the armi swam to it...inspected it a couple times and swallowed it. Ive decided every 2 days ill freeze a minnow and feed him for 2 weeks just so he can get adjusted to frozen food. Next ill try pieces of tilapia fillet, if that doesn't work i'll switch to silversides IMG_5516.PNG

The annoying part of this for me is when I try to give him frozen and he doesn't take it, I have to fish it out with a net bc theres isn't any other fish in the tank. Good thing I have some very hungry Wolf Fish in the other room that will eat anything.

WOW! ok so this may be a isolated incident but....MY ARMI ATE HIS FIRST FROZEN FOOD. Such a great feeling right now. I wish I took a picture but he swallowed it in a second. So I started not feeding him on Monday and I started throwing a small tilapia fillet last night (he charged it but swam away). Today I threw in one and he charged it and took it! This happened way too fast so I'm thinking it was an isolated incident but ill try again tmrw to confirm. Wow this made my day (which tells you how much of a fish nerd I am haha)

that's great. Just don't forget to thaw all food before feeding. They will die if they eat frozen food.

After mine started taking tilapia chunks I would feed them whole fish from the Asian grocery stores. It's cheaper and they get more complete nutrition from whole fish instead of just filets.

oh yah i always thaw it in warm water before feeding. Hmm ill try that, I'll poorly use these tilapia chunks as training until he for sure eats it. Then ill move to a more nutritious fish, because even I wouldn't eat these walmart tilapia fillets...pretty sketchy haha
 
Well....I was right. It was a isolated incident. He didn't take the tilapia this morning and Im going away for the weekend so I threw in 1 defrosted minnow for him, Ate it in a second.

I guess we'll see tmrw if he will take another one
