these are very sensitive fish. The medication is probably doing more harm than anything.

sooo....
dont use any meds?

ok I got that, all I have been using is salt and high temps..with alot of aeriation.

lower temp to 78, no salt ,fresh water, much aeration, and the activated carbon someone suggested is a good idea . I have heard Armatus really dislike salt. I have an armatus about 10in. and I have used ich attach from kordon at double dose for goslinia catfish that had ich and were in the same tank system with no harm to armatus.

How many tanks do you have running. If you have another tank with no meds in it, I would get him in it. If you have to set up another tanks and use tank water from a tank with no meds in it and some filter media from a tank with no meds in it. I would then dose the new tank with binox to prevent bact or fungal infections. We us binox on rays and they do well with it. Is he still eating. If so that is always a good sign. I would also get some stress coat in the tank as it has aloe vera in it to help rebuild a slime coat.

I have used salt with good results on my armatus before..I havent had good lck with mela or pima fix on any of my fish. I would definitely put him in a tank with no meds...in my experience with my armatus though he's very much like a cichla not as sensitive some people make them out to be. I wish you the best, how is he doing now?

I will put him into a tank(cooler) with no meds and good filtration with the bio pads..

should I put stress gaurd in... or whatever for slime coat or just leave him alon with no meds and salt?

he is sitting in one corner in the top of my sump, not moving and more of his scales are comming off:cry:
he has not eaten in 4 days :( so i have no idea what to do....

Yes, also acclimate him to the new tank water via drip, before just going into the completly new water of the tank/cooler,he is very weak. If he stopped eating,he should be ok until he is comfortable again in the new tank , hopefully soon. With good water quality his scales should regenerate pretty quick.
