Well this disgusting eye problem started out as what appeared to be just a pin hole sized air bubble in the eye. Well it worsened day after day. Now it appears the Arnatus's swimming habbits are being affected. I'm sure knowing my luck it's too late to save him, but I'll sure try my best.

Looking for any suggestions.

Thanks to ANYONE who can offer in sight to this poor guy with only 1/2 his sight.

Oh man that's awful! Sorry, I wish I had some advice for you but I've never seen this issue before...I sure would like to know the potential cause/cure though in case it happens to my armatus.

Bump to help get some advice here...

My big scomb has a similar problem but it did not start as a pinhole as you stated yours did,I think mine could have been roughing it with my redtail and somehow injured the eye,it is almost completely white and I notice that it still moves and tries to focus and the clear dome looks intact but I think that there is no vision in that eye.It still seems to eat more and faster than my redtail. My point is that if your fish does not have some sort of infection or ailment then it just may live its life almost normally.

Have you tried the "Salt and Bump Up Temp" routine?

my old armatus used to shank my pbass's eyes like once a month... every time the pbass got a bubble in his eye. it healed every time w salt.

Man sorry to see this! I hope he pulls through. I know you will do all ya can. GL bro!
BUMP for some real help!

i would not hesitate to put him in a hospital tank and add some salt and i would treat it as a infection with maracyn and maracyn2 together for about 5-7 days. i would also bump the temp up a few degree's from his normal tank temp. My first red tail's eye hazed over pretty bad and i did this same thing and it cleared up with in the first 3 days. Is his eye popped out some or not.
