I use this site for diagnoise of fish disease if and when it happens to me - http://www.jbl.de/onlinehospitaluk/perpicture/index.php?Step=2&GalleryId=2

The pic of the eye isn't dead on more sideways so my best guess would be a repeat of bacterial infection to a wounded eye. As for the popeyes response earlier that was in reference to Chris006 - some fish do recovery, as in live, from popeyes and I believe the treatment regament is long term antibiotics, long term as in months, however the eye will most likely be blind.

I have seen this before. One of my payara and several of my datnoids have eye injuries due to my armatus. I expect the salt and clean water is all you can do unless infection sets in. I expect permenant injury to the (cloudy white spotting) but not blindness. My armartus seems to be taking out the eyes of his tank mate 1 a week. Soon I will have a tank of one eyed monsters............
