I don't get it are they rare? I see them at my lfs for $39

They both look almost exactly the same at that size - armatus are much more rare, there's no way your LFS is turning a profit selling true armatus at that price.

What else looks like it? The owner usually price his fish for quick sale. I seen a Tigrinus there for $70 before but didn't have space for him at the time. I was thinking of picking an armatus up but afraid it will eat my atf.

There are 3 types of Payara available - Scomb (almost every LFS carries), Redtail (moderate), and Armatus (hardly see). They all looks a like to someone. Take a picture, and we'll let you know. BTW, Jurense also looks like Tigrinus
