Armatus Front teeth

Just to share an observation. My armatus's front left tooth broke off after one feeding session. I siphoned it off from the aquarium floor. I kid you not, just after one day it's has a fully grown teeth. How this is possible ?

Their teeth grow that fast ? Just insane and amazing

From what I know on piranhas, they have multiple rows of teeth like sharks. Maybe armatus aren’t too different?

Something from C Chicxulub back in 2013:

By the time the original tooth falls out, the new tooth is already fully grown and waiting. Once the original is shed, all the new tooth has to do is fold up into the slot.

Essentially as they shed or lose teeth, there is already a new one waiting.

A full sized tusk replacement a day later is incredible.I sure dont recall my armatus regrowing their teeth anywhere near that quickly.

Yeah having the tooth come back the next day is a bit crazy, normally it takes a couple days. But still, if it was a younger fish, this doesn't seem unreasonably out of sorts for what would happen with a payara
