Armatus tankmates

I have a 210 gallon tank with a Orbignyi ray and two spotted gars,. Would adding a juvenile Armatus be a mistake or can these fish cohabitate?

i have been worried with my armatus and gar.. when the armatus has food in his mouth the gar are chasing, and one nip and the armatus could loose an eye.. be careful with gar. I am seperating my gar from my 13-14" armatus this weekend not worth the risk

I dont blame you.I have mine with an eight inch dorado and some other characins and I think the dorado will try to take out the armatus sooner or later.I have heard of rays trying to eat armatus if they are small enough.

With rays... ok if your armatus is longer than half of the rays diameter, anything smaller is in risk! A very sad personal experience...

With gars... no, too risky, I wouldn't keep any expensive fish with gars, they tend to wreck their tank mates... again, this is from personal experience.

I've had rays take down Armatus that were over 2/3 the rays disk.

Armatus and Gar.... NOPE. Like mentioned Armatus take a bit to eat as it's thier nature to hold the food a bit before eating. While they are holding the food dirty fish like Dorado and Gar will "mug" the Armatus and will likely result in an eye injury at best, worst the Armatus darts smashes into tank, develops the Characin "stuppor" and dies.

X3 Not worth it. I have Gar, Dorado, and Armatus and have not ever been comfortable with either Gar or Dorado as Armatus tankmates.

Would brycon, temensis, oscars/GT, and or large catfish be okay tankmates for armatus?

I was planning on introducing a really large clown knife (I have been renting a tank for him at my LFS)to my Armatus. I am really hoping they get along. I been dreaming about adding some Gulper cats but scared there night time activity will disturb my Armatus!
