Armatus Trio added with Rays

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice thread, love the new setup, they're doing great it seems, hopefully you can be one of the few to keep them for more than the average 2 years or so.
Thanks, they are over 2 years now so we will see. No negative signs yet.
Sweet Don
Thanks Kevin

Beautiful! Thnx for the update
Thanks John
How are your Armatus? Great pics bro!
Thanks, Doing well now. Largest jumped tank when I reached in to tank with net to do the transfer. He shot straight out of tank slamming the ceiling, bounced over into wall falling to floor. Just laid there while I scooped him up and put him in the new tank. By next day he was swimming normally but didnt eat for about 4-5 days. Smaller one ate the same evening as the transfer never missing a beat.

Sheesh, glad he's ok, hope to keep hearing good things.

They look great Don! Moving them is a huge risk glad it worked out!
My last one made it a little over 2 years and was 10" then 24" at the end.

How big are yours, they looked huge in the old tank and look tiny in the new one..lol

Biggest is around 17" other around 15-16" They are kinda shaped different. Largest is longer, not as deep of body and doesnt have the deep slope from back to head. Other is shorter but deeper bodied and has more of a slope from its back down to his head with better green/gold coloring which is hard to capture with a camera and these LEDs.

Maybe you have a male and female, the larger ones cadual fin is quite a bit larger as well but his dorsal looks smaller. And his adipose fin is farther from his cadual (spelling?) fin. Idk small differences so maybe it's just the fish?

I have looked and found nothing as for as sexual differences. Noticed the larger caudal and spacing of the adipose from caudal. But in actuality the larger's dorsal is taller also. Its been damaged and broke off before when he jumped out of tank ( twice before) during water changes. So it has some scarring from regrowth.
